Update: According to 8NewsNow.com, ” the 12-year-old boy who was hit in a crosswalk outside a school Friday afternoon has died and the driver who hit him is now facing a manslaughter charge.”
A motor vehicle pedestrian accident injured two children Friday afternoon, February 14, 2020.
As reported by Fox5Vegas.com, “about 3:30 p.m., a 9-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy were struck at Losee Road and Lone Mountain, near Somerset Academy.”
News3LV.com is reporting, “a Black Dodge ram pickup…was traveling eastbound on Lone Mountain Road from Losee Road. A group of students was crossing Lone Mountain northbound in the crosswalk. [The driver] failed to yield to the students hitting the two victims.”
According to the report, “[t]he children were hit and taken to UMC Hospital in critical condition…[t]he girl was in surgery at last update, while the boy was in ICU.”
[The Driver] was arrested and booked into the Las Vegas City Jail and charged with failure to maintain lane, failure to give full time and attention to driving, and two charges to fail to use due care around pedestrians.
The investigation is ongoing.
