A motor vehicle accident involving a bus and a tractor-trailer left two people dead and multiple others injured Saturday morning, August 24, 2019.

As reported by ElkoDaily.com, “[a] truck hauling ore struck a bus carrying [mining company]…employees north of Carlin, causing two fatalities and multiple injuries.”

The collision happened shortly after 6 a.m. on State Route 766 about six miles north of Carlin.

14 passengers on the bus were cared for at Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital and six were sent for treatment to Reno and Salt Lake City.

According to the report, one passenger on the bus, “Rocky Witt,…was fatally injured in the accident.”

The driver of the tractor-trailer was also fatally injured in the accident.

As reported by Fox5Vegas.com, “[o]fficers were called to the area of West Desert Inn Road and Canyon Lake Drive, near South Fort Apache Road, about 10 p.m.”

According to the report, “[t]he pedestrian, identified by police as 63-year-old Kenneth Toll, was walking across Desert Inn when the driver of a 2016 Kia Optima was headed west on D.I. and struck [Mr.] Toll”

The victim was taken to a hospital where he remained in critical condition as of 8 a.m. Thursday, reports ReviewJournal.com.

According to the report, the driver of the Kia “was arrested on one count of DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm.”

An accident involving an SUV and a semi-truck Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2019, caused the death of one person.

As reported by ReviewJournal.com, “The crash was reported about 1 p.m. [near] the main entrance to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway…at Las Vegas Boulevard North and Checkered Flag Lane.”

An alleged DUI driver caused an accident that injured multiple people Tuesday night, July 23, 2019.

As reported by ReviewJournal.com, “[a] suspected impaired driver was arrested following a five-vehicle crash Tuesday night in east Las Vegas that critically injured one man.”

Per the report, a driver was eastbound in a Chevrolet pickup on Stewart Avenue about 9:40 p.m. approaching a red light at Christy Lane. The driver failed to stop and rear ended a Mercedes Benz C-Class which then caused a chain reaction with three other vehicles.

The driver of the Mercedes, “identified as 32-year-old Bryan Castillo, was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries,” according to the report. Three other people suffered minor injuries.

The media report states the driver of the Chevrolet pickup was arrested and facing a felony charge of DUI.
