San Antonio, TX – Gunfire rang out at a restaurant parking lot early Saturday morning, November 23, 2024, claiming the life of one man.

As reported by MySanAntonio.com, “[o]fficers responded to a shooting in the parking lot of [a restaurant] located in the 12700 block of I-10 around 1:23 a.m. Saturday, November 23. Police said a man and woman were eating at the local restaurant, and as they were leaving, they noticed the inside of their car was illuminated by a flashlight and broken glass on the ground.”

According to the report, “[a]s the couple realized their vehicle was being broken into, a verbal altercation broke out between the man and the alleged burglar, who then started shooting.”

News4SanAntonio.com is reporting, “[o]ne suspect pulled out a gun and began firing. The woman was grazed by the gunfire and the man was struck in the chest. Michael Vargas, 32, was ultimately pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.”
