A woman lost her life after a work-related incident at a Portland, OR construction site Thursday afternoon, May 30, 2024.
OregonLive.com is reporting, “[a]n ironworker died Saturday, two days after she was injured in an accident at the Northeast Portland construction site.”
KGW.com is reporting, “Samantha ‘Sam’ Deschenes was injured at the construction site at the high school just around 3 p.m. Thursday. Deschenes was taken to the hospital. She died from her injuries Saturday.”
According to the report, “[p]reliminary information said the accident involved a forklift, according to Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division. It said Oregon OSHA had an ongoing investigation into the incident and would release more once the investigation was complete.”
