Cary, NC – A motor vehicle/pedestrian accident Friday morning, November 29, 2024, claimed the life of a young girl.

As reported by CBS17.com, “officers said they responded to a call of a crash involving a pedestrian around 10 a.m. Friday on High House Road near the intersection of Cornerstone Drive by the Cornerstone shopping center.”

According to the report, “officers found a 13-year-old girl who was struck by a commercial vehicle. She was hit while she was walking in the crosswalk. The girl was taken to the hospital, where police said she [was unable to survive] her injuries.”

WRAL.com reports that “the victim is Shiyu “Chloe” Hua.

The investigation is ongoing.
